Threaded flange IS preferred for low - pressure fluid transfer. The Threaded flange is feasible for basic use since we can connect it to the pipe directly with the help of the threads & there is no need of welding to join them. The Threaded flange has a disk-like structure with a series of holes made to pass bolts through them to connect to other objects; it has threads in the center of the disk-like structure so as to connect to the pipes having external threads without welding.

The Threaded flange also helps in connecting 2 flanges together with gaskets efficiently.

Due to their thread attachments, they are not preferred for high - pressure fluids since they are not welded. But even if welding is done at the joints still they are not feasible for high - pressure fluids.
