Forged Pipe Fitting – Sandco Metal Industries

FORGED FITTINGS

Forged steel pipe fittings are created using a process called forging. The process of forging heats a piece of carbon steel that is placed between an upper and lower die, which molds the heated piece of carbon steel into the desired shape. Drop Forging is a processing method by use of forging press put pressure on metal blanks, making it produce plastic deformation in order to obtain certain mechanical properties, a certain shape, and sizes. Forging can eliminate the as-cast loose defect produced during metal smelting process, and optimize the microstructure. Meanwhile, because of the intact metal flow, the mechanical properties of forging will be better than that of castings of the same material.

MATERIAL

Forged pipe fittings are generally available in two materials: Carbon Steel (ASTM A105 material spec), and Stainless Steel SS316 (ASTM A182 material spec). The surface of carbon steel A105 forged pipe fittings may be further reinforced against corrosion through galvanizing. This is an optional add-on which customers may include at an additional cost.

TYPES OF CONNECTIONS

When it comes to its type of connection then it divides into two sections, which we manufacture at Sandco steel, including Stainless steel hose fittings and Threaded Pipe Fittings. Usually, there are three types of connections such as-

· NPT (National Pipe Thread) Connections

· BSPT (British Standard Pipe Thread) Connections

· BSPP (British Standard Parallel Pipe) Connections
